Your complaint about the short product life span of Partition Magic seems to have been resolved. If that doesn't work, delete the exisiting partition and create a new one from scratch. All you have to do is go to tools, advanced functions and convert to what type you want. Hi Anonymous, What product are we talking about PM 3,6,7,8? Conversion from NTFS to FAT32 isn't difficult. Someone please tell me how this program works. The only reason I got this is because dos command cannot convert ntfs into fat32 because that operation is unavailable on my computer. I don't care about losing files I just want to convert and thats it. What is boot mode? Does that mean restart in the boot menu? It doesn't do anything if I do that. It ask me to do things in some mysterious boot mode I have never heard of. Tride various methods and the program still does nothing no matter what I do.

I had to boot up using a copy of XP Pro that is installed on the same partition in a different directory and it boots up fine but all of my installed software and setting are on the other install that won't boot up. All I was doing was COPYING my boot partition not doing ANY changes to it. Normally you would see immediately after logo appears small white font scrool under it saying "windows is now starting".

Windows had to reboot to perform the operation, operation was about to start when PM gave error message something like "cannot read batch file, check that file is not on a compressed drive (or maybe that file is not compressed)" ok then puter reboots again but now it gets to the screen with light blue background with the small XP logo on it (just before screen that has user account on it) and it sticks there for good.
